Lin’an Culture, Sports and Exhibition Center is a comprehensive venue integrating national fitness, events, conferences & exhibitions, and leisure & entertainment, and hosted two events (wrestling and taekwondo) during the Hangzhou Asian Games. After the Asian Games, we adhered to the aim of “returning the center to the people and benefiting the people in the Asian Games”, and rapidly started the “transformation key” of the venue. At present, various jobs entered the ending stage, and the center will be open to the citizens by the New Year’s Day.

In the main venue of the Culture and Sports Center, the former elements of the Asian Games disappeared, and was replaced by a new spacious basketball gym. The dominant tone of advanced green, together with the element of “flowers in the fields” highlighted the sceneries of Lin’an, and was amazing. In the venue, many workers were doing the tail-in work, installing the basketball stands, clearing the site, and creating the atmosphere.

As the guarding team and venue operator during the Asian Games, Wang Wei (responsible person of Dafeng Sports) told the journalist that they began to transform the venue shortly after the Asian Games, “We have intervened at early stages, and completed the planning and design of the venue, so the transformation is rapid. For example, the Taekwondo Competition of the Yangtze River Delta was held in the transformation process of this basketball gym, and the Office Basketball Game of Lin’an District will be held next.” Wang Wei said that they were hurrying up, and that the basketball gym would be completed before the 15th.

It is reported that in addition to the main venue of the culture and sports center, the original warm-up hall will also be transformed into a badminton gym, equipped with 15 badminton courts, to create a small ball center in Lin’an. The training hall will be transformed into an indoor tennis hall with 2 tennis courts, and the Taekwondo hall and soccer hall are also in the transformation process. Wang Wei introduced that all sports items were in the ending stage and would be open to the citizens by the New Year’s Day.

In addition, in service support, the culture and sports center has also introduced a theme hotel and banquet center, which can support the tourism, tournaments, and intensive training. The banquet center can accommodate 1,200 people at the same time. By then it will cover more than 10 items such as soccer, basketball, swimming, badminton, and tennis, and be equipped with the commercial area, sports-themed hotel, banquet center, and city library, to provide “one-stop” services for sports competitions. It can not only hold various types of large-scale sports events and mass activities, but also meet Lin’an people’s needs for sports and fitness.

Adhering to the aim of “returning the center to the people and benefiting the people in the Asian Games”, Wang Wei expressed that the policy of benefiting the people would be implemented and the center would be open to the masses for public benefit in the future. For example, a half-price policy is applied during the daytime on weekdays; a free policy is applied on the 8th of each month; groups such as students, honorary military personnel, and senior citizens enjoy a 50% discount on the ticket price with valid certificates; the venues will be provided for specific groups during special festivals. “We hope that after the opening, the public can actively participate, come here for physical exercise, and enjoy the joy brought by sports.”
