In order to comprehensively enhance students’ mental health in the new era, promote innovation in the content and form of psychological education for vocational high school students, popularize mental health knowledge and improve students’ mental health literacy, Changhua Vocational High School held the Fifth Campus Psychodrama Competition on January 8.
The competition has attracted 18 classes to participate. Students observed daily life from their own perspectives, told stories of growing up, and brought issues to the stage of potential interpersonal difficulties, parent-child conflicts, campus bullying, appearance anxiety and gender stereotypes, etc. Those issues are the ones that may be confronted by them in their learning and life. During the performances, students felt themselves through the light of the stage, expressed their emotions through the words of psychodrama and expressed the “great truth” in the form of “psychodrama” by “acting by themselves and acting for themselves”. In their performances, they demonstrated the difficulties of growing up and answered the difficulties in their interactions. Ultimately, one first prize, three second prizes and five third prizes were selected from the competition.
“This Psychodrama Competition has not only enriched our campus cultural life, but also deepened our understanding of ourselves. When faced with various problems in the future, we will adjust my mentality and find better solutions.” Students participating in the Psychodrama Competition all expressed their opinions like this.
The Psychodrama Competition has popularized mental health knowledge to students through the combination of education and entertainment. It is reported that in the future, the school will carry out more psychological themed activities that are welcomed among students, in order to fully mobilize their enthusiasm for participating in mental health education, help them cultivate a positive and sunny attitude and safeguard their healthy and happy growth.
