With the Chinese New Year approaching, the festive atmosphere is becoming more overwhelming. In order to further enhance the care for sanitation workers and new employment groups, the Federation of Trade Union of our district recently invited more than 200 workers in Lin’an to gather together for a New Year’s Eve dinner and enjoy the “Lin’an Happy New Year” together.

There were no empty seats at the hotel banquet, and the site was full of laughter and joy. After a brief speech, the New Year’s Eve dinner was officially started. At the invitation of the Federation of Trade Union of our district, representatives of new forms of employment from various industries such as delivery guys, delivery drivers and ride hailing drivers gathered together. They enjoyed food and tea, chatted about daily life, clinked glasses and wished each other well. Their faces were filled with smiles, creating a warm and lively atmosphere. There were also programs performed on site, such as the dance Celebrating the Chinese New Year with a Flourishing Scene of Prosperity and the Yue Opera At Eighteen They Bid farewell, which added excitement to the event.

“After being busy for a whole year, I feel so happy today to have dinner with so many workmates and friends on the New Year’s Eve.” Shao Yuchao, a delivery guy, is a “senior driver” who has worked for nine years. He is deeply impressed by the changes in Li’an over the years: “There are more love stations on the streets and lanes, and it becomes more convenient for us workers of the new employment forms, who are driving outside all the year round.”

It is learned that in recent years, the Federation of Trade Union of Lin’an has paid close attention to the two major groups of new employment forms as well as outdoor workers. The federation has taken a series of heart-warming measures from various aspects, including membership construction, rights protection, station building and employment assistance, etc., so as to focus on solving the “urgent and difficult” problems of the workers and enhance their sense of happiness and belonging.

The relevant person in charge of the Federation of Trade Union of the district stated that as one of the “eight heart-warming measures”, inviting sanitation workers and workers of new employment forms to have the New Year’s Eve dinner aims not only to convey the respect and care of them from the Party Committee, government, trade union organizations and all sectors of society and let them feel the “one family warmth” from the people in Lin’an, but also to promote the spirit of labor, guide the public to form a correct understanding and focus on creating a good atmosphere for the whole society to care for the workers of new employment forms and support sanitation work.
