Early in the morning, Ms. Yu arrived at the Guorui Center Renewable Resource Collection Outlet with two boxes of discarded cardboard. The transparent pricing and open system, along with clearly marked signs at the collection point, made everything easy to understand. Weighing, collecting, and sorting, the staff quickly counted the cardboard, turning the waste into a tangible income in no time. Ms. Yu told reporters that compared to the wandering collectors she used to rely on, the collection outlet provided her with the greatest convenience and transparency. “It’s close to home, right downstairs, and the prices are clearly displayed on the board,” she said.

More and more people are proactively depositing recyclable resources like Ms. Yu. However, determining where and how to deposit these recyclable resources, and to whom, has become a new challenge. To address this issue, at the end of 2023, the City Construction Investment Group of the district teamed up with a third-party enterprise to launch the “Integrated Operation Project for Renewable Resources,” aiming to further upgrade offline recycling outlets. Meanwhile, leveraging the power of digitalization, the district introduced the “Lin’an Cleaners” platform, a recycling mini-program for renewable resources. Users simply need to register, provide information, take photos, and with just a few clicks, professional personnel will come to collect recyclables at their doorstep, effectively bridging the gap in doorstep recycling services.

Jiang Yugang, the operations manager, explained that our district has been fully implementing the “Integrated Operation Project for Renewable Resources” since the beginning of the year, aiming to achieve convenience and efficiency in the recycling of renewable resources through systematic and intelligent operations, using the “Internet + offline recycling” model. Currently, we have established 120 front-end recycling outlets and 2 sorting centers. In the future, we will accelerate the construction of back-end facilities such as transfer stations and comprehensive sorting centers, while also incorporating and reorganizing social recyclers to promote the standardized development of the traditional recycling industry.
