With pleasant temperatures, sunny weather alternated with rain during the Qingming Festival Holiday this year, which attracted many tourists to visit the mountains and countryside of Lin’an for spring outings and flower viewings and searching for fun in the wild spring scenery. According to statistics, our district has received a total of 318,000 tourists during the holiday, a year-on-year increase of 43.24%; the district received 205,700 person-time who spent the night here, a year-on-year increase of 191.77%; among them, 27 scenic spots received a total of 90,500 visitors and achieved a total revenue of 2.4218 million yuan.

Spring Outing and Flower Viewing Become Mainstream

This spring, “flower viewing tours” have become a seasonal theme, and Lin’an, with its pleasant scenery and superior ecological environment, has become a popular flower viewing destination for nearby tourists. Flower viewing tourism in our district continued to heat up thanks to the residual heat generated by the “Cherry Blossom Festival in Miji Village” in March, making a new peak in passenger flow during the Qingming Festival Holiday. During the three-day holiday break, scenic sites such as Longmen Secret Realm, Red Leaf Guide and Heqiao Ancient Town saw the blooming rape flowers, attracting a large number of tourists to visit; Banqiao Town held the themed event of “Flower Field” Peach Blossom Season, featuring taking photos by wearing Hanfu, claiming peaches and picnicking in rural areas to entertain parent-child tourists. During the Qingming Festival Holiday, the entire district has received 227,500 visitors for rural tourism, including 4200 person-time, 3550 person-time and 1455 person-time to Longmen Secret Realm, Red Leaf Guide and Ancient Heqiao Town, respectively.

Featured Handicrafts Favored

Traditional cultural themed activities quietly emerged in the tourism market before and after the Qingming Festival. A unique “cultural journey through time” was embarked through rich activity forms such as experiencing folk arts, interaction in parks, Qingming handicrafts and parent-child interactions, etc. The district museum held a second classroom activity, “Bringing Spring Home”, for teenagers by making bags, which added fun to their holiday life; the Tianmu Mountain Zhiliao Homestay launched a teaching activity on making Tianmu lanterns, allowing tourists to deeply experience the unique charm of Wuyue Culture through education and entertainment; the Tuanyuanli Homestay started an activity to make traditional Chinese floral paper, conveying the elegance of traditional Chinese techniques to holiday tourists.

Novel Projects “Achieve Great Success”

Lin’an Scenic Area continued to innovate its business format during the Qingming Festival Holiday, with novel projects emerging in an endless stream. The projects strengthened market competitiveness while bringing fun to tourists. The small train in Daming Mountain Mining Cave ran happily and brought parent-child tourists an adventure on high mountains, attracting more than 4,400 person-time and achieving a revenue of 420600 yuan; more than 5,400 tourists rushed to the Fengzhigu Scenic Area to experience the 20 amusement activities launched by the area, creating a tourism revenue of 630,000 yuan; in addition, the Cute Paradise at Taihu Lake Source Scenic Spot attracted a large number of parent-child tourists.

Popular Gourmet Food Consumption

With the increasing popularity of tourism in our district, gourmet food tours also flourished. Hangzhou citizens could be seen everywhere in the countryside fields picking up wild spring vegetables. Lin’an’s rural vegetables such as spring bamboo shoots, ferns, water celery and Kalimeris indica topped the list of search queries frequently on social platforms. At the same time, traditional food blocks of Jingshan Road, Jinjiang Road and Pingshan Village, etc. experienced a peak season of consumption, with a strong hustle and bustle conveying the charm and warmth of the city. On April 6, Caigenxiang Restaurant, a demonstration restaurant for Thousands of Bowls from Hundreds of Counties in our district, held the 7th Peach Blossom and Osmanthus Fish Festival and Great Chef Contest, attracting a large number of citizens and tourists to observe. The atmosphere on site was really lively.
